1.Your definition of volleyball?

Passion, that’s what it’s all about!
Passione ed è tutto quel che si può dire.
2.When did you start to play?
2. Quando hai iniziato a giocare?
I’m the youngest of three brothers and every Sunday I was going to my older sister’s matches and stealing a ball to play against the net. This became more and more important for me and at the age of 13 I left my former passion, artistic gymnastic, to start to play volleyball.
Sono la più giovane di tre fratelli e tutte le domeniche andavo a vedere le partite di mia sorella. Rubavo una palla e mi mettevo a giocare contro la rete. Questo è diventato sempre più importante per me e quando ho compiuto 13 anni ho lasciato la mia prima passione, la ginnastica artistica, per iniziare a giocare a pallavolo.
3.The best moment of your career?
3. Il momento più bello della tua carriera?
Murcia’s final four of the Champions League in 2008. It was my first year with a Serie A team, I played for Novara and I got the chance to play the small final and we won it ending up third in the trophy! My father was in the arena and for the first time ever I saw him very proud and happy about myself.
La Final Four di Murcia nel 2008. Era il mio primo anno in serie A, giocavo a Novara e ho avuto la possibilità di giocare la finalina per il terzo e quarto posto. Vincemmo la partita e ci qualificammo terze al trofeo. Mio papà era nel palazzetto ed è stata la prima volta che l’ho visto orgoglioso e felice per me.
4.The most important score that you made?
4. Il punto più importante che hai fatto?
There have been many, but the one I remember the most has been in the Serie A playoff against Bergamo. I was in Novara and I closed the match scoring the last point with a second touch from the reception!
Ce ne sono stati tanti ma il più importante che ricordo è stato in una partita dei playoff di serie A contro Bergamo. Giocavo con la maglia di Novara e ho chiuso il match, mettendo a terra l’ultimo punto con un secondo tocco.
5.The trophy you would like to win?
5. Il trofeo che ti piacerebbe vincere?
All of them, of course, but the one I desire the most is to be part of the Olympic Games, the highest award of an athlete’s career.
Tutte le vittorie sono belle ed importanti ma quel che desidero di più è di prendere parte ai giochi olimpici: sicuramente il momento più alto della caerriera di un’atleta.
6.To whom or what would you give up to volleyball?
6. Per chi o per che cosa rinunceresti alla pallavolo?
I would give up to volleyball to create a family, my family.
Rinuncerei alla pallavolo per creare una famiglia, la mia famiglia.
7.What music do you listen before going into the field?
7. Che musica ascolti prima di scendere in campo?
Before going into the field me and my teammates are used to put loud speakers into the locker room playing RAP and disco music to get into the match mood.
Prima di scendere in campo, io e le mie compagne siamo solite alzare il volume delle casse nello spogliatoio e far partire canzoni rap e da discoteca per entrare nel mood della partita.
8.Your sport idol?
8. Il tuo idolo sportivo?
In the world of volleyball Eleonora Lo Bianco, simply the best player and person ever. In sports in general, the new ironman Alex Zanardi, for his fortitude, tenacity and daily sacrifice.
Nel mondo della pallavolo, Eleonora Lo Bianco, semplicemente una giocatrice e una persona fantastica. Nello sport in generale, invece, dico Alex Zanardi: per la sua forza, la sua tenacia e il suo sacrificio quotidiano.
9.Your best physical quality?
9. La tua migliore qualità?
I’m very reactive, that makes me faster in decision-making.
Sono molto reattiva e questo mi rende più veloce nel prendere decisioni.
10.The moral quality you admire in the others.
10. La qualità morale che più ammiri negli altri
Since I define myself as a very honest person, I admire honesty when I receive it, even if it may hurt sometimes. But it’s better a slap in the face than a knife in the back!
Amo definirmi una persona onesta e ammiro l’onestà quando la ricevo, anche se questa può ferire. Ma è sempre meglio uno schiaffo in faccia che una coltellata alla schiena.
11. A value and a defect of your character?
11. Un pregio e un difetto del tuo carattere?
I would answer honesty for both. It’s a value and a defect at the same time. A value because people around me always know what I think about them. A defect because sometimes they would prefer not to know it.
Direi onestà per entrambi. E’ un pregio ma allo stesso tempo un difetto. Un pregio perchè le persone che mi stanno intorno sanno sempre cosa penso. E un difetto perchè alcune volte loro vorrebbero non saperlo.

13. Your worst habit?
13. La tua più brutta abitudine?
I’m a perfectionist, even at home, and since perfection doesn’t exist it’s very hard for me to feel 100% satisfied.
Sono una perfezionista, anche a casa, e siccome la perfezione non esiste, è veramente dura per me rimanere soddisfatta al 100%.
14. What does attract you in a man/woman
14. Cosa ti attrare in una donna o in un uomo?
I like to observe people and the most fascinating thing that attracts me is the attitude.
Amo osservare le persone e quel che mi attrae di più sono le capacità
15.Have you ever betrayed someone?
15. Hai mai tradito?
No, never. I did a lot of mistakes, specially when I was younger, but I’ve never betrayed my family or my friends.
No, mai. Ho fatto tanti errori, specialmente quando ero più giovane ma non ho mai tradito la mia famiglia e i miei amici.
16. Would you pose nude for a calendar?
16. Poseresti nuda per un calendario?
I would love to pose for a calendar because I love photography, but I think that beauty doesn’t reside in nudity.
Poserei per un calendario perchè amo la fotografia, ma non penso che la bellezza risieda nella nudità.

“Chi sa ridere è padrone del mondo”, my personal hastag (#chisaridereèpadronedelmondo) which means “who is able to smile owns the world”, something I really believe it’s true! But another one that comes from the NBA inspires my daily routine and practices: “Hard work pays off!”.

“The kite runner”, cause respect and love make human relations durable and reliable, despite distance, time and other circumstances.
“Il cacciatore di aquiloni” perchè credo che il rispetto e l’amore rendano le relazioni umane durevoli nel tempo e affidabili, nonostante le distanze, nonostante il tempo e nonostante le circostanze.

Italian cheeses with honey and jams…I can eat tons of them! And I strongly recommend you to try!

I would like to be remembered as a winning athlete and a person that can communicate her passion and dedication for what she does, smiling every day with the same enthusiasm.
Vorrei essere ricordata per essere un’atleta vincente e una persona che ha saputo comunicare la sua passione e la sua dedizione verso quel che ha deciso di fare, sorridendo ogni giorno con lo stesso entusiasmo.

There are so many that I could write a book about them but you know, what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room!
